Stronger together: Manenberg public housing maintenance progress

The City’s Public Housing maintenance teams visited its Peta and Ondine courts in Manenberg to carry out repairs and maintenance work. The City’s Public Housing Department is investing in maintenance and repairs of more than R1,2 billion over the next few years.
Human Settlements Mayco Member Councillor Carl Pophaim visited the units to check on the maintenance work being carried out.
'It is always gratifying to see for myself the carpentry, electrical and plumbing work being carried out at our units. I was happy to start working and give these units a fresh coat of paint. We want to know that the thousands of tenants who live in our units across the metro feel comfortable and secure. Because of this, we recently launched a Public Housing campaign which prioritises safety and maintenance at our residential units. It is our mission to the units in a safe and dignified manner, for the benefit of the residents.

We are stronger and more resilient when we work together for better living spaces,’ said Councillor Pophaim.
